The most popular version of the legend about the origins of Halloween is that it originated in the pre christian countries of ancient Western Europe,   mainly Ireland,   Scotland and Wales. The ancient Western Europeans in these places were called Druids. Druitt's New Year's Eve on November 1st, the druids gathered young people, wearing strange masks and carrying carved radish lanterns, they roamed the villages. It was in fact a celebration of the autumn harvest, or“Ghost day,” when the spirits of those who had died were said to visit the world on the eve of Halloween, it is said that people should let the visiting ghost see a good harvest and show the ghost a good treat. All bonfires and lights, one in order to scare away the ghost, but also for the Ghost Lighting Route, guide its return.
